I had so much fun with this one.
There's just something to building up a painting with a million little layers. If you look closely, you'll see just how many pencil-thin strokes went into rendering our "Hero" character here!
I just love how it gives the shadows and highlights an almost "rainbow" tint. Like he's glowing from within, from a pure light that contains all colors.
And the flame! In my mind, "Hero" is a bit of a video game character, always looking for new collectables. He found the fire of passion which gives him the ever-important message:
THERE IS ALWAYS POSSIBILITY.
